Welcome to The Shade Tree!
We're so glad you found your way to The Shade Tree, a fine woodworking shop started in 1996. We're a two-person team, handmaking all of the work ourselves to ensure you have the highest quality products for your home.
Our work really grew out of a love for figured woods and a great appreciation for creativity and fine craftsmanship. We call ourselves The Shade Tree in honor of the great maple and cherry trees we begin with and that, through their magnificent figured patterns, bring their natural beauty into your home.

| Like you, we strive to be as environmentally aware as possible and we've been adapting our practices to ensure we are responsible artists. In February 2009, we began powering our workshop with SOLAR power! It's an exciting venture and we'll be sure we update all of our customers as we experience this new way of living & working.
We're also committed to replacing the trees we use through a program we began in 2008 through which we donate a portion of our sales to The Arbor Day Foundation. Because of you, we've already planted over 1000 new trees and we look forward to continuing in 2011.
